THE RING TWO Complete version DTS Special Edition [Limited Release]

This japanese version of Ring Two is so far the only Directors cut version with DTS soundtrack available anywhere in the world. Even if it wasnt, the release is still first rate and my rating of 4 out of 5 stars reflects my view of the technical aspects of this disc. The movie itself is unfortunately flawed. Hideo brings a wonderful creepiness to the way Samara moves that was missing from the first American ring. But the rest of the movie deviates too far from the japanese originals and reminds me more of a typical american B-movie sequel that rips off movies like the exorcist and others. Had Hideo had more creative freedom with the script the movie couldve been a knock-out movie. The unrated version is better than the original version, but a rating just for the movie would probably be a weak 3 out of 5. Still, if you like Ring Two this is the version to own as all other versions are inferior.
