Description

[Machine Translation] Born in Sweden, he studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and then went to Berlin to study with Sohle and Scharvenka. After returning to Japan, Aurin was active as a violinist and conductor. He was a friend of Henri Marteau and Wilhelm Stenhammar, and in 1887 he founded his own eponymous string quartet, and by the 1890s he was regarded as "the most important violinist in Scandinavia. As a composer, he wrote works belonging to the late Romantic period, lyrical and elegant. His Concerto No. 3, in particular, is dramatic, reminiscent of Sibelius, and nostalgic, similar to Tchaikovsky. The thick sound of the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Manze, enhances the work.

Note: This is an import edition (manufactured outside of Japan).
