Initial D has surpassed 56 million copies in cumulative circulation and continues to command a legendary following 30 years after its serialization began. One major factor behind its explosive popularity is the anime adaptation. The anime series has been broadcast and streamed in dozens of countries, including North America, Europe (France, Spain, Italy, etc.), and throughout Asia, generating enthusiasm on a global scale. That momentum has continued even after the original manga concluded.

The "Initial D 30th Anniversary 2days" event, held at Fuji Speedway to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the serialization, drew a total of 37,600 attendees over two days, once again demonstrating the work's overwhelming appeal.

Now, an album collecting theme songs from the anime, long awaited by fans around the world, is being released on vinyl.
