Description

Zilqy, the post-melodic nu-metal band making their first appearance at SUMMER SONIC 2026, release their first full album! This 10-track 1st full album further expands the world that Zilqy gave birth to on their previous EP. The sound concept is "balancing heaviness and universality". Building on the massive guitar riffs and breakdowns of world-standard modern metal, the band pursued a sound design that fuses striking synth sounds with catchy melody lines to create vivid hooks without losing any heaviness. The aggression that modern metal has, and a universality that lets anyone share the emotion. Achieving both is exactly the new musical expression that Zilqy call "post-melodic nu-metal". All lyrics are handled by Anna (Vo). Facing realities such as conflict, loneliness, fear and loss, the lyrics consistently depict people who still choose their own future by their own will, and deliver that to the world as a universal message in English. On this work, Miho (B), Toki (G) and Kano (Ds) brought in motifs and ideas for the songs while Anna (Vo) built the world through the lyrics and the vocal melodies, so the members' involvement in the creative side deepened even further. In addition to Toshi-Fj and MACKY, who took part on the previous work, the band newly welcomed rui, and refined the work through this co-creation setup. Mixing and mastering were handled by Lance Prenc, as on the previous work, giving shape to "balancing heaviness and universality" as world-standard modern metal sound.

Birth of Riot / Zilqy
