Since the 2020s, following a viral breakout on TikTok, Lamp has garnered over 2.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify. In addition to a dedicated fanbase across Asia -- including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Indonesia -- the band was selected as the supporting act for Mitski's 2024 tour and joined her across North America. Their own headlining tour, "FUTURE BEHIND ME" North America 2024, saw all 17 shows sell out. Their solo show at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA this summer also sold out instantly. Lamp continues to gain global recognition at an accelerating pace. Now, two of their critically acclaimed albums are being released on vinyl simultaneously.
Lamp's seventh album exudes such a distinctive individuality that it feels almost inappropriate to compare it with specific genres or other artists. Particularly, tracks like "Sachiko," "Symphony," and "Autumn in City A," where complexity and beauty are harmoniously balanced at a high level, elevate popular music to the realm of art. The album cover features artwork by Seiichi Hayashi, a painter and illustrator who symbolized 1970s youth culture and is known for his work on Lotte's "Ko-ume-chan" candy and the manga Red Colored Elegy. His art adds a delicate and lyrical touch to Lamp's world.
