Introduced in 2012, 100% Pure LP is a Made in Japan special product and a pioneer of today's high-fidelity vinyl records, one that has attracted major attention from around the world. One of its defining features is the use of "uncolored virgin vinyl," which eliminates all coloring agents, such as the carbon typically used in standard analog records, that can affect sound quality. Using only pure, straight vinyl chloride as the raw material reliably improves the stability of the molding process. Another key feature is the use of "metal master pressing." By skipping the metal mother and stamper stages of the usual analog pressing process and pressing directly from the metal master, this method achieves overwhelmingly faithful groove formation. However, because durability suffers as a result, the pressing quantity is always strictly limited. This release further adopts 45 rpm, as used for 12-inch singles, rather than the usual 33 rpm for LPs. Because this shortens the time that can be recorded on each side, the result is a 2-disc set, but it allows for wider, longer grooves to be cut, and the higher rotation speed also improves stability, producing major advantages in detail reproduction and volume richness. The source audio is mastered as flat as possible from high-spec WAV files newly transferred from the original analog master tapes, so as not to compromise the freshness of the sound and its dynamic range, pursuing a natural sound faithful to the original recording. By thoroughly refining every stage, from the selection of master and vinyl materials through to pressing, "100% Pure LP" draws out the full true value of the record. The result is a sound that is literally pure and clear, free of any murkiness or noise, while retaining all the guts and warmth unique to analog.
