With profound reverence for the classics and an endless passion for creation, gagaku musician Togi Hideki has built a unique musical world by seamlessly blending tradition with innovation. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut, this work is the culmination of the distinctive musical philosophy he has pursued, "TOGISM." Ancient and modern, East and West, tradition and innovation -- this two-CD set brings together a one-of-a-kind soundscape born from their fusion. It features a wide range of music, from the resonant sounds of gagaku and grand original compositions inspired by the Silk Road to progressive works, arrangements, and "Songs of Japan." In addition, Togi has reimagined representative works from the beginning of his career through his current musical sensibilities, vividly portraying his 30-year journey, his present artistic vision, and the path that lies ahead. Togi Hideki personally performed many of the instrumental parts and handled much of the recording himself, while his son, Togi Norichika, also participates on hichiriki, sho, guitar, vocals, and more. The album also conveys the unmistakable spirit of TOGISM and classical gagaku being passed on to the next generation. The booklet includes self-written liner notes by Togi Hideki.
