YOKO ONO REISSUE PROJECT restarted. The fifth installment in the project reappraising artist Yoko Ono. This is a newly packaged expanded edition of "It's Alright (I See Rainbows)," her sixth original album, released in 1982. Newly remastered from the original tapes, it includes two bonus tracks. The CD comes in cardboard sleeve packaging that recreates the original package design, with a new booklet featuring unreleased photos. Following her previous album "Season of Glass," which depicted the deep grief of losing John Lennon, this work entrusts a sense of hope and the will to be reborn, the feeling of "still going on living," to a lighter sound incorporating New Wave and dance music. Yoko's experimental spirit is still alive here, including the use of Sean's toy ray gun as part of the rhythm. The album's signature song "Never Say Goodbye" uses John's voice in the intro, followed by a moving structure in which Sean seems to call Yoko back to reality. "My Man" fuses New Wave with a calypso flavor. "Let the Tears Dry," a song of rebirth symbolizing the album's theme, carries the message of drying one's tears. "Dream Love," with its beautiful melody, is also regarded by many fans as one of Yoko's hidden gems from the 1980s. The bonus track "Forgive Me My Love" is an outtake from this album. On the back cover, John is depicted in a transparent form, as if watching over them. With the clock in her heart still stopped in 1980, this pop yet deeply moving work captures Yoko as she begins to walk toward the future while carrying that sense of loss. Includes a bonus poster.
