A heartwarming, mysterious human comedy set at a convenience store, the crossroads of modern human life! At a convenience store in Mojiko, Kitakyushu, an incredibly handsome store manager and a wild, mysterious man known as "Nandemo Yaro" - these two intriguing men solve the troubles of customers and staff with slightly complicated circumstances in a stylish, wild, and speedy fashion! Kento Nakajima, appearing in an NHK drama for the first time, takes the lead. He gives a spirited performance in a dual role as the pheromone manager and Nandemo Yaro, two men brimming with completely opposite charms. A star-studded supporting cast including Rena Tanaka, Fuku Suzuki, Hisako Manda, Akira Emoto, and Hiroshi Tachi appears alongside him, and the richly individual characters come to life with a vivid sense of presence. This is a drama adaptation of the popular novel of the same name by Sonoko Machida. A heartwarming story filled with human kindness and hope is brought to the screen with a script by Nonji Nemoto. The theme song is "Kokoro" by Fumiya Fujii, and its bright, positive rock and roll adds color to the drama. -- Tenderness is a convenience store chain operating across Kyushu. At its Mojiko Koganemura store in particular, the area in front of the register turns into something like an idol concert venue! What the fans (the customers) are after is Mitsuhiko Shiba (Kento Nakajima), the bewitching pheromone manager who captivates people of all ages, young and old, men and women alike. Thanks to him, the store ranks among the top sellers of all Tenderness stores. The Mojiko Koganemura store is on the first floor of an apartment building for seniors, and the building's women's association has by now even organized a support group that serves as Mitsuhiko's fan club. Mitsuri Nakao (Rena Tanaka), a part-time worker, is intensely curious about how popular the manager is! She once set out to be a manga artist, and she puts those skills to work writing the web manga "Fero Tencho no Furachi Nikki." And there is one more person besides the manager who draws Mitsuri's interest... He is a mysterious man who always pulls up in a light truck, buys piles of bento and food, and polishes all of it off in the eat-in corner! He wears green overalls with the "Nandemo Yaro" logo on the back. With his messy hair and stubble, his wild looks strike Mitsuri as an even richer vein of material than the manager. Then one day Mitsuri learns the ultimate secret, that the pheromone manager (Mitsu) and the wild Nandemo Yaro (Tsugi) are in fact brothers! [Bonus footage] (subject to change) The making of "The Convenience Store by the Sea", a collection of comments from the shoot wrap, a 5-minute PR spot (before and during the broadcast), and a 10-minute PR spot (during the broadcast).
