[Machine Translation]
"The source of that unforgettable emotion lies here."
This volume presents the storyboards-essentially the blueprints of Vampire Hunter D-in their entirety, spanning a full 637 pages.
Within each cut that flashes by in an instant on screen, you can fully experience the director's meticulous attention to detail and the intent behind every piece of staging and direction.
From the subtle nuances of character performances to the carefully constructed narrative that supports the story-
this book invites you to encounter a different kind of vitality: the dynamic energy of the lines themselves and the passion conveyed through words, distinct from the finished animation.
In addition, the book features a roundtable discussion with director Yoshiaki Kawajiri and producer Masao Maruyama.
Their candid exchange vividly brings back the excitement and intensity of the production period, recorded in full.
The many ideas born from the deep trust among the staff serve as the perfect spice for appreciating the work on a deeper level.
With every turn of the page, your "memory of emotion" grows richer-revealing an experience that goes beyond what can be captured on screen alone.
