[Machine Translation] Posters were introduced to Japan from Europe at the end of the Meiji Era (1868-1912), and with them came printing technology and the concept of design, both of which are still relevant today. This exhibition introduces 229 posters from the late Meiji, Taisho, and early Showa periods, when Japanese visual design flourished, ranging from the "Bijinga" style posters that evoke traces of ukiyo-e to more diverse and modern posters.
