Jun Fukamachi traveled alone to New York and held sessions with top-tier New York musicians who were beginning to rise to prominence at the time, resulting in one of the most iconic masterpieces of J-fusion. It is also a monumental work that sparked the "crossover boom" in Japan. It would not be an exaggeration to say that this album introduced The Brecker Brothers, Stuff, David Sanborn, and Mike Mainieri to Japan. For this CD reissue, the theme song from the NHK period drama "Hayafude Usaburo", previously available only on YouTube, "DEPARTURE IN THE DARK" (alternate version), is finally included as a bonus track for the first time.
