[Machine Translation] Pale Dian is an Austin, Texas-based shoegaze/dream pop band formed in 2015. The band consists of Ruth Ellen Smith, Derek Kutzer, and Nicholas Volpe, with Ruth Ellen Smith and Derek Kutzer previously playing in the band Blackstone Rngrs. Soon after forming, the band signed with Manifesto Records (Dead Kennedy, Turtles, Puro Instinct, etc.) and released their debut album, Narrow Birth, in June 2016. The first single from the album, "In A Day," was named SPIN's Seven Favourite Songs of the Week and featured in Impose magazine. The album itself received a high 4/5 review on AllMusic.
