This is Nekosen's second full album, released exactly four years after their previous CD + DVD release, with the album title derived from an actual commemorative day. For Mio Harada, who handles songwriting, composition, and vocals, the emotions and scenes she has turned into songs so far are all symbols of her present and moments that were indispensable for encountering the cat she lives with (the ginger cat). This work is a collection of 11 songs, consisting of previously released tracks and newly recorded songs, that bundles the trajectory of music creation and daily life with a sense of gratitude. Starting with a one-take recorded intro featuring the brown tabby cat shown in the title, it includes the dreamy bossa number "Cutie Honey Melomantic" highlighted by Yuto Sawai's upright bass, "Zakuro" where the crisp rhythm of flute and percussion gently brushes the cheeks, the cat anthem "CAT IS LOVE" written from the image of a party and referred to by Harada as a "cat number," and "Mochimochi," which was created as an indie-written theme for a TV anime through the spread of an unparalleled love for cats. In addition to the alternative mood and distinctive poetic world of the first album, this work layers pop-digested essences of jazz, soul, bossa nova, and samba in their own way, resulting in an album that simultaneously conveys Nekosen's universality and uniqueness. This limited edition also includes a DVD containing live footage from the "Cats & Mellow 3 Tour" held on February 2 and 22, 2025 at Kobe Guggenheim House and Tokyo Dance Hall Shinsekai. As with the previous work, it comes in a four-page cardboard sleeve jacket with artwork by vocalist Harada, who regularly listens to music on CD, and is released on February 2, the same date as their first album "Mitsu Gekki Kiko" released during her university days. Twenty days later on "Cat Day (February 22)," they hold their annually hosted party "Cats & Mellow," celebrating music and cats with an unchanged stance.
